It began with a small group of food lovers, whose passion for pinpointing London’s most exotic post-work eateries took them all over the city. Delighted by the discoveries—Brazilian barbecue, Ethiopian injera, Swedish herring—we got to thinking. Surely we could find a restaurant for each country of the world without leaving London? Where in the world could we eat next?
Hunched over plates of Eritrean, Peruvian and Burmese delicacies, we formulated our mission. For every country recognised by international law (and maybe beyond), one or more of our party must find, and eat, its signature dishes—all within the Greater London Area.
While we realise there are as many cuisines as there are people in the world, we hope our shamelessly tokenistic search provides amusement, restaurant tips, and lessons about London and beyond.
